Wedding at Archbishop’s Palace, Maidstone

Posted on Sep 30, 2011

This wedding at the Archbishops Palace in Maidstone was not the first wedding venue of choice for Kristen and Steve. When they originally booked me back in 2009 they were going to be getting married at Upnor Castle. As with planning a wedding it can all take over too much, and you can often lose sight of true emotions and intentions for your wedding day. Once Kristen took a step back a realised all the plans were escalating out of her control she decided to reconsider her options. I am so glad she did as their wedding day was relaxed, fun and original.  That, bundled together with a small intimate group of family and friends, made for a wonderful celebration.

It is truly flattering when someone books me to photograph their day so far in advance. To me it means they have seen my work and have full trust and belief in me to document their day the way I see it: in an honest and true representation of their wedding day through a series of creative still images that capture the atmosphere and emotion of a Wedding Day.

As you can probably tell from this longer than normal blog post by me, I really am pleased that I was chosen to document Kristen and Steve’s wedding, because from the hair by Vicki Lord ,make up by Lucy Jayne, the ceremony at the registry office in Maidstone, to The Lady of Kent river cruise reception, the acoustic music of Ross Mclver to being entertained at the dinner table in the evening by magician Matt Daniel – Baker, …their day was perfect.

    Hi Steve,
I just wanted to say again how much we adore these photos! You were so wonderful on the day and everyone felt that they had known you for years, I certainly have never felt so relaxed. You are a marvel and I cannot recommend you highly enough.
Have a great big kiss and a cuddle for being so fab!
